Two new industrial units have been approved for construction at an estate in Buckinghamshire, despite objections from nearby residents.
Buckinghamshire Council has granted planning permission for the development at the Marlow Bottom Rose Industrial Estate. The units are intended for storage and office use and will be built on an existing hardstanding area that has not previously been used for commercial purposes.
Three residents lodged objections to the proposal, raising concerns about potential highway safety risks, parking pressures and increased noise. However, the council said the full details of the objections were not made public.
The authority’s highways officer rejected claims that the scheme would create parking problems, concluding that the development would not have a detrimental impact on local roads.
In planning documents, the applicant maintained that the proposed use was suitable for the site, despite its proximity to residential properties.
A statement submitted with the application said: “The scheme is not considered to result in there being any harm caused to the amenities of the neighbouring residential plots.”
